La Vermutería del Sherry in Jerez de la Frontera

"My partner and I visited La Vermuteria del Sherry while staying at the adjoining Hotel Sherry Park (a great hotel, by the way). The restaurant opens at 8pm for dinner; we arrived shortly after and were immediately seated and warmly welcomed by the very pleasant staff. The wine list is very good, and as the name suggests, they also offer an extensive selection of vermouths and sherries. The menu consists of small plates (picoteos), perfect for sharing. We probably ordered a little too much, but with such a varied selection it was hard to resist! To start, we had the oxtail croquettes (my favourite type, and these did not disappoint) and tomatoes with Iberian ham. We then enjoyed the beef cheek brioche, Iberian pork mini burger, and toasted rice with pork cheeks. Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. We skipped dessert this time, choosing instead to linger outside with another glass of wine, but there are plenty of dishes, including fish and seafood options, that I’d love to try on our next visit. This restaurant really has it all: wonderful food, great drinks, and excellent service. Next time we’re in Jerez, we’ll definitely be back!"
